So, I tried to launch Skyrim through the skyrim script extender and it crashes after the bethesda logo! I also use the unofficial hearthfire, dragonborn, and dawnguard patch, but I don't mind getting rid of them if they are the problem.

Can anyone tell em why this is happening? Showing 1 - 15 of 33 comments. Jouchebag View Profile View Posts. Those other patches require the vanilla skyrim patch. You shouldn't need to get rid of the Unofficial Patches.

Simply uncheck the mod in the left pane. Only if you want to start a new game, from Arthmoor There is no such thing as a clean save. It does not matter who tells you there is, it doesn't exist in Skyrim. You cannot remove any mod, not even the patch, without there being some data that's been permanently changed. Bethesda's own developers have confirmed the only way to properly remove a mod is to load a save made BEFORE that mod was introduced into the game.

If you started a new game with 10 mods installed, you're going to be stuck with those 10 forever. This is not something the patch broke. It's just the way Skyrim works. Cancel X. Heck, the previous playthrough I had in the game that was without any USKPs had me encountering less bugs than with the patches installed now. For most of the significant major quest bugs in the game, the patch doesn't even fix. But that's not really the main reason why I want to uninstall. Certain changes and specific location-based CTDs I keep encountering has me narrowing it down to the patches. So just to make sure, how safe is it to uninstall the USKPs on an existing save?

I'd ask it on the nexus page but I guess the author won't bother. Samaellives91 7 years ago 2. Did you install them via Mod Manager or Manually? The reason they're not working properly might be because they're in the wrong load order. Lorthremar 7 years ago 3. Mackorov Topic Creator 7 years ago 4. The patches uses scripts?! This is worst than I thought Elrawiel 7 years ago 5. A lot of the bug fixes aren't glaringly obvious but trust me, they're there.

Unable to complete quests or turn in items NPCs not following schedules etc Honestly, CTD's are very unlikely to be caused by the patches. Kind of curious, how did you pinpoint the issue to the USKP's?
